A building damaged during the war in Ukraine

13 September 2026 — Russian air strikes across several regions of Ukraine killed nine people and injured dozens on Saturday, according to Ukrainian local officials.

Fatal attacks were reported in Kramatorsk, Zviahel, Zaporizhzhia and Kryvyi Rih, while residential buildings, vehicles, shops and infrastructure sustained damage.

In the Odesa region, authorities said nearly 40 people were injured as strikes continued from overnight into the day.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia launched nearly 500 drones and accused Moscow of widening attacks on economic targets away from the front line.

Russia’s Defence Ministry said its forces struck industrial facilities and port targets that it alleged supported Ukraine’s military effort; Reuters said it could not independently verify claims from either side.

Ukraine also reported a strike on an industrial plant in Russia’s Samara region, while Russian regional officials acknowledged drone attacks and damage to residential buildings.

Moldova temporarily closed its airspace after detecting a drone near the Ukrainian border, demonstrating the broader regional risks created by the sustained aerial campaign.
