Ukraine : At least eight people have been killed and dozens more injured in a fresh wave of Russian attacks that struck multiple regions across Ukraine overnight, Ukrainian officials said on Sunday.
The casualties were reported across several parts of the country as authorities continued to assess the damage from the latest bombardment.
In the Sumy region, a 59-year-old man was killed when a car was hit, officials said. In the same region, in the Velyka Pysarivka community, a 51-year-old man was killed in a separate drone strike.
The governor of Donetsk region confirmed that one person was killed there. A further death was recorded in the Kherson region.
In the Zaporizhzhia region, two people in their 60s were killed after a strike hit a house. Officials also updated the death toll in the city of Kryvyi Rih, in the Dnipropetrovsk region, to two.
At least 39 people were injured in the overnight attacks, including six in the Kyiv region and two in the Odesa region following a strike on a post office.
The attacks mark the latest in a sustained campaign of Russian bombardment targeting Ukrainian cities and communities, with casualties continuing to mount as the conflict grinds on.
